HOW LONG WILL MY PLATELET RICH PLASMA TREATMENT FOR HAIR RESTORATION LAST?
Platelet Rich Plasma treatment will provide a gradual increase in hair restoration. Follow up appointments should be booked 3 months after the initial treatment series. Patients usually require maintenance treatments 2-3/year.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF PLATELET RICH PLASMA TREATMENT FOR HAIR RESTORATION ?
Patients can resume activities immediately. Most common side effects are some tenderness to the scalp following the treatment. Your health care practitioner will review all the rare potential side effects at your complimentary initial consultation.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLATELET RICH PLASMA HAIR RESTORATION

Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

Refrain from, or minimize, smoking three days prior to treatment.
THE DAY OF THE PLATELET RICH PLASMA HAIR RESTORATION TREATMENT

The morning of your treatment wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo.

Do not apply sprays, gels, or any other styling products to your hair.

Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light-headedness during your treatment.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLATELET RICH PLASMA HAIR RESTORATION

Do not touch, press, rub or manipulate the treated area(s) for at least 8 hours after your treatment.

Avoid Ibuprofen and all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents for 2 weeks following your treatment.

It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your procedure. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen-containing products as directed.

Do not wet your hair for 24 hours following your treatment.

For the first 3 days following the treatment, use a shampoo that is pH balanced.

Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours following your treatment.

Avoid saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 2 days following your treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days following your treatment.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes for 3 days following your treatment.

Avoid resuming Minoxidil or hair coloring or straightening for 3 days following your treatment.

Continue increased water intake the first week following your treatment.
